Chef Abby’s Gourmet Kitchen is a company forged by the powerful combination of cultures and forces which have shaped our family as well as our 21st century world. It is a marriage of culinary art and business science. The essential ingredients of the company are its founders, husband and wife, Chef Abby and John Craig Wilkinson. Chef Abby is the culinary artist and John is the business professional.
Chef Abby, graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Texas with an associates degree in Culinary Arts, and a bachelor of science degree in Food Service Management from Johnson and Wales University. She built her foundational knowledge of cooking and food preparation as the eldest daughter in a large family in Zimbabwe and upon 15 years working as a manager in the hospitality industry in four and five star hotels in Zimbabwe. That experience followed attending the Bulawayo Commercial Training Institute in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
John, after careers in the Oil and Gas Industry, and Software Development, founded a nonprofit that served orphans of the AIDS pandemic and Persons living with HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe. He was based at a small hotel in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where he met and eventually married the assistant manager of that hotel, Chef Abby.
